Raw Umber Holy Grail is a water based ground for encaustic painting. As a single pigment iron oxide (earth) color, Raw Umber leans greenish, cold.

Holy Grail is the first gesso made for encaustic art underpainting. One can paint any of the Holy Grail White, Black, or colors as the first layer, before any wax is applied. Holy Grail takes about an hour to dry, is non-toxic and washes out of clothes and brushes even after it has dried.

Colors are intermixable and tint well when mixed with White Holy Grail.
This is a 16 ounce container which will cover over 50 square feet with opaque color.
